How to Use COUNTIF Function in Google Sheets

Updated: Dec 30, 2022

The COUNTIF function is a function in Google Sheets that can be used to count the number of cells that meet a given condition.

The COUNTIF function is one of the most commonly used functions in Google Sheets. It can be used to count cells based on a certain criteria. Let's say for example that you want to find out how many people are male. You would use the following formula:

=COUNTIF($C$7:$C$15,B2)

This will return the number of male people, which is 4.
